- Bill Cosby vs. many woman – Andrea Constad is one of dozens of women who have sued Cosby for defamation, accusing the comedian and actor of lying when he denied sexually abusing them years ago. In Constad’s civil lawsuit, Cosby’s deposition was unsealed, revealing that he admitted giving women quaaludes and having intercourse with them. He says both the drug use and sex were consensual. Recently, a Pennsylvania district attorney brought charges against Cosby for sexual assault based on the 2004 encounter with Constad.

Lesson: When victims of assault or other injuries wait too long, they lose the right to sue under the statute of limitations. The specific length of time varies based on what state the events happened in and what type of claim is brought. That’s why most of the accusers are suing Cosby
The news broke earlier this week that the divorce proceeding between Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco and professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting just became a great deal more complicated than originally reported.
Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting
Perhaps that shouldn’t be surprising. After all, Cuoco recently was named as Forbes’ highest paid TV actress for 2015 (in a tie with Sofia Vergara), with $28.5 million in earnings, including an impressive payday of one million dollars per episode. Comparatively, Sweeting — who boasts only one career tournament win and has been battling injuries — has an estimated net worth of only two million dollars, about $42 million less than Cuoco’s reported net worth.
So why should anyone be surprised that the spouse worth less is asking for financial support from the big bread winner?

Not many people — even celebrities — can claim a record as impressive as the Kim Kardashian divorce with Kris Humphries. The marriage: 72 days. The divorce: 536 days. But, it’s finally over.
And according to reports, it was Kris Humphries who caved at the last minute to settle the case, just weeks ahead of the May 6 trial date. Per TMZ, Humphries had been demanding either an annulment based on fraud or a $7 million pay-out.
So why the change of heart for Humphries? For one, it’s seldom easy to prove a case of fraud in court. It’s easy to claim fraud, but in divorce, civil, and probate cases alike, actually finding the goods to prove fraud is not easy. Humphries’ lawyers tried, conducting many depositions and digging through extensive records. Reportedly, they did not find enough proof that Kim Kardashian tricked Humphries into the marriage or staged it only for publicity.

Jenni Rivera was a singer-songwriter, actress and Telemundo TV star who died tragically on December 9, 2012 in a plane crash in Mexico. While well-known to fans of Latino music and Mexican TV, Rivera appeared poised to breakthrough to mainstream America due to a new TV show she was set to star in for ABC.
The 43-year old Rivera lived a turbulent life. She had her first child at age 15 and then married the father. They had two more children together, but it was a marriage of abuse and molestation. After the divorce, Rivera’s first husband was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in jail for child molestation.
Rivera married twice more and had two more children from her second marriage. Her third marriage, to professional baseball player Esteban Loaiza, also was ending. The couple filed for divorce on October 1, 2012, citing irreconcilable differences. There was a report that Rivera and her eldest daughter had been fighting because the daughter had an affair with Loaiza, but it’s a Read more...
Russell Armstrong was the 47-year old husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Taylor Armstrong. Tragically, Russell committed suicide on August 15th about one month after Taylor had filed for divorce. Russell was reportedly distraught over how the Bravo TV Show was going to portray him in this upcoming season. His unexpected suicide took his whole family by surprise.
The already sad situation turned even uglier a few days ago when attorneys for the family members began to argue, publicly, about his funeral. Russell’s attorney told numerous media outlets that Taylor had not told Russell’s parents or sister about the burial arrangements. In fact, he blasted Taylor and her attorney saying:
“I am deeply disgusted that Taylor would use her family law attorney to create cover, by lying to me over a period of days, on her behalf in writing that she would share the funeral location and time with my client’s mother, father, sister and other family members. Instead, no one has contacted them and it
Each week, we take the latest celebrity estate news and use them to share lessons. It’s shocking how many rich and famous people make mistake and after mistake, which often leads to heirs fighting over inheritances. But, it’s not only the rich. Everyday across the country, people from all walks of life make the exact same mistakes time and time again. The only difference is the dollar amounts that they’re fighting over.
Sometimes, celebrities do get it right, and we love to share those as well. In fact, recently, Amy Winehouse tragically passed away at the young age of 27. Almost immediately, people worried that her fortune (which has been valued at differing amounts, from 15 to 30 million dollars), would pass to her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.
Fielder-Civil is currently in prison for burglary and related crimes and is often blamed for introducing Winehouse to hard drugs, which likely had a hand in her early demise (although the exact cause has not yet been determined).

The divorce contest between the late Dennis Hopper and his wife, Victoria Duffy-Hopper, was ugly when he was alive. It’s turned even uglier since he’s passed away.
Duffy-Hopper dropped a new bomb on the children of the Easy Rider star, and the Trustees of his Trust, by filing two new lawsuits recently in Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles.
In the cases, she claims that his children wrongfully forced her to move out of Hopper’s house, so they could grab a bigger inheritance at her expense. She alleges Marin Hopper, one of Hopper’s children from a prior marriage, manipulated, coerced and told Hopper “cruel lies”. She did this, according to one of the lawsuits, to drive a wedge between the happy couple and force him to file for divorce.

But, the marriage couldn’t have been too happy, since Duffy-Hopper takes aim at her late husband, too. She asks the Court to invalidate the couple’s premarital agreement, saying that Hopper intimidated, coerced and threatened her until Read more...
